On behalf of Women Self-Reliant Coalition, Inc. (WSRC) a non-profit 501(c)(3) IRS Tax deductible organization established in January 2003 as an Educational Self-Sufficiency Empowerment and Health Educational Prevention Awareness Center for women and children in crisis situations.

WSRC is committed to serving low to moderate income women making successful transitions from poverty to the workforce or re-entering the job market for a second time. WSRC enrichment programs are designed to assist women at all levels of recovery to becoming a self-reliant tax paying citizen within our society.

WSRC encourages and prepare women of all ages to develop self-awareness, self-worth, restore self-esteem, and employ self-initiation to enable them to move into a permanent, economically self-sustaining lifestyle.

WSRC embodies the Greek word, “artismos” translated as mending, repairing and restoring) as it helps women to recover from disadvantages and overcome barriers. WSRC provides comprehensive programs, and services that will enrich and enhance women holistically, spirit, soul and body.
 

Philosophy Response to the Need
 
WSRC is committed to responding to the needs of women and their children in the metropolitan Atlanta, GA area.
 
Women often face critical problems:
 
  • poverty
  • low self-esteem
  • abuse
  • feelings of hopelessness
 
More than one quarter of our youth live in a home headed by single mothers.
 
Women face many problems such as:
 
  • domestic violence
  • homelessness
  • unemployment
  • lower than average educational success empowerent for constructive change
 
 
Too often, at-risk youth are indulging in unsafe sex; resulting in unwanted pregnancies and exposure to HIV/AIDS,  drugs and alcohol, unwed mothers, low test scores, and poverty.
